Stories at the Old Schoolhouse: Miss Rumphius

Spend an hour at Old York, hearing a story that highlight’s New England history and culture, and afterwards enjoy a related activity or take a peek inside Old York’s one-room schoolhouse.

Old York’s popular children’s summer program kicks off with a favorite New England tale, Miss Rumphius, by Barbara Cooney… Miss Alice Rumphius made a promise to make the world a more beautiful place. She began by sowing lupine seeds along the coast of Maine, and soon became known as the Lupine Lady. After the story, meet Miss Rumphius and plant some lupin seeds of your own!

This event is FREE, no registration required. Recommended for children ages 4 to 10. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
