The Murray Academy offers classes for all levels of dancers, from Pre-Beginners ages 3½ to 5, to beginners through to champions. No prior experience needed, come join us and let your little ones discover their love for Irish dance. Free trial classes are available on request!
The Murray Academy is proud to be home to approximately 170 dancers. We are a cohesive group of dedicated teachers, assistant teachers, supportive parents and wonderful students, committed to learning and growing. There are many different reasons why our Murray families participate in the world of Irish dance…whether it is for sport, exercise, or family tradition, our Murray dancers just love to move their feet!
2024 / 2025 Beginner Classes
Pre-Beginner
Ages 3½ – 5
A 30-minute, less structured class format, focusing on coordination, balance, dance skill development, and music recognition as building blocks to step dancing; teaches basic reel and jig steps; incorporates games to ensure fun!

Beginner
Ages 5-11
A 45-minute class focusing on basic step dance skills, steps and technique for those new to Irish dancing. Reel, jig and slip jig soft shoe steps are taught in this first year.

- Wednesdays 3:45-4:30pm
- Fridays 4:15-5:00pm

Advanced Students
If your dancer is at the Advanced Beginner, Novice, Prizewinner or Prelim/Open Champion level and is looking for a new challenge or more competitive training, email us at lisab@murrayacademy.com to inquire. We do from time to time accept transfer students throughout the year if there are openings in the classes appropriate for the dancer’s experience level.
